New Villas Expand Luxury Whitsunday Holiday Options
|
| July 2011: Hamilton Island (www.hamiltonisland.com.au) on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef has expanded its collection of privately owned Yacht Club Villas available as luxury holiday properties, ideal for families and groups of friends looking to holiday together in comfort in the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. |
The new Villas – decorated by internationally recognised Australian stylist, Claire Delmar – have been introduced to meet demand for luxury holiday options on Hamilton Island, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. This expands the Yacht Club Villas collection launched last spring, providing the perfect self-contained alternative to Hamilton Island’s existing high end accommodation at qualia (www.qualia.com.au).
Designed by pre-eminent Australian architect Walter Barda, the Villas are part of the iconic, world-class Hamilton Island Yacht Club. Set over three or four levels, the Villas afford spectacular views of Dent Passage towards the Whitsunday Islands. All include a spacious open plan living/dining room, state-of-the art gourmet kitchen with Miele appliances, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. In addition, the Villas have separate laundries and are fully air conditioned.
Each Yacht Club Villa guest has access to a range of facilities including:
• The private, waterfront lagoon swimming pool • The Hamilton Island Yacht Club gym • Complimentary use of a four-seater golf buggy for the duration of their stay • Families with children under the age of 12 can take advantage of the ‘Kids Stay & Eat Free’ programme • Priority tee times for the 18-hole championship Golf Club located on neighbouring Dent Island • Privileged access to premium island facilities and amenities via the Island Concierge including the restaurants, Spa qualia which is located at the exclusive qualia resort, and VIP Hamilton Island airport to villa transfers
The Oatley family commissioned Australian interior stylist Claire Delmar to infuse her unique and minimalistic sense of style into the newly available holiday Villas. Her approach complements the look and feel of the other Villas which were decorated by Meryl Hare, Swinging Monkey and Coco Republic. A well-recognised name in design, Claire has worked for an array of leading Australian women’s, lifestyle and interior magazines.
Tasked with creating a feeling of comfort and luxury while celebrating a destination that is quintessentially Australian, Claire took inspiration from the colours and textures of Hamilton Island’s diverse landscape to create a harmonising interior space that showcases the Island’s natural beauty.
“The key to achieving the additional new look on offer at these Villas was to make sure they complemented rather than competed with the beauty of the surroundings. I needed to ensure the Villas remained luxurious, yet casual, offering a ‘home away from home’ setting that guests look for in holiday accommodation,” said Ms Delmar.
The Yacht Club Villas sleep up to eight and are available from AUD$1,200 (approx £795) per night for a 3-night minimum stay.
