| Dine Around The World Without Leaving Dartmoor |
| 7 October 2011: Dartmoor diners in search of something a little more exotic need look no further than the Prince Hall Hotel (www.princehall.co.uk) and a new series of Taste the World evenings. Why not brighten up the darkening evenings with a taste of authentic Thai, delicious Spanish tapas and flavoursome Italian? |
If the thought of travelling far and wide to seek out global cuisine leaves you cold, the themed Thursday evenings could offer the ideal solution for tantalising the taste buds without accumulating air miles.
The series starts with three global gourmet evenings:
- Thursday 20th October - Thai night, £22.50 for 3 courses
- Thursday 3rd November - Tapas night, £22.50
- Thursday 1st December - Italian Night, £22.50 for 3 courses
There will also be a Wine Tasting Supper on Thursday 10th November, affording the opportunity to sample a selection of wines from around the world. An informal and informative pre-supper tutorial with wine merchant, Charles Steevenson, will be followed by a four course autumn supper, each course accompanied by carefully chosen compatible wines. The evening costs £45 per person; diners can choose to stay from as little as £105 per person including four-course dinner, wines, bed and breakfast.
The special Thursday menus reflect the passion of the Prince Hall chefs. Originally hailing from Yorkshire, head chef, Nick Platts travelled around Australasia before joining the team at the Prince Hall; whilst sous chef, David Kristjansson, brings his love of European cuisine to the table, having previously worked in France, Iceland and Sweden as well as at tapas restaurant ‘Extra’ in Denmark.
