Prices rise to AUD$3,600 (approx. £2,000) per person for two nights when staying in the 120 square meter Osprey Pavilion.
A SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT POLICY: Southern Ocean Lodge converts its waste water and organic waste into clean irrigation water which is used on the gardens. Extensive recycling separates compost materials, cardboard and paper, glass, plastic, aluminium and rubbish. Water is harvested from all roof surfaces and is stored in tanks with a capacity in excess of 1.5 million litres. The latest heat pump technology provides an energy efficient hot water system, equivalent to a solar powered water supply. A striking solar farm of some 225 suntracking and rooftap panels generates an average 130kw.h per day.
When creating the Lodge, only one hectare of land was cleared for the property, in other words approximately 1% of the total 102 hectares purchased as private land. The remaining 99% has been placed under a Heritage Agreement to protect against future development. Prior to building, extensive flora and fauna surveys were conducted to identify rare wildlife and ensure protection plans were put in place.
As the Lodge is situated on an important wildlife corridor between two national parks a 250 metre long raised boardwalk was erected between the Lodge and the beach to minimise the effects of guests walking about the area.

Adelaide Restaurants

Surrounded by parklands and decorated with squares and gardens, Adelaide is a well-planned city graced with Victorian and Edwardian architecture preserved from the colonial era. Harboured between the calm waters of Gulf St Vincent and the picturesque backdrop of the Adelaide Hills. Laid out in a grid of streets and squares, it takes just an hour to traverse the city from end to end. Central Adelaide features award winning restaurants, outdoor cafes, markets and elegant buildings. It is from here that many chefs personally select produce for their restaurants.
