| Gimme Shelter - Woodovis Park Sponsored ShelterBox Arrives In Kenya |
| January 2012: A box of much needed supplies sponsored by Devon-based holiday park, Woodovis Park (www.woodovis.com), has arrived in Kenya to help those affected by the drought and famine. |
Woodovis Park selected ShelterBox, the Cornwall-based international disaster relief charity, as their chosen charity last year with the aim of helping to raise awareness for the scheme. Guests at the eco-award-winning holiday park were also invited to add donations to a collection box during their stay, raising a further £67 for the charity.
The Woodovis Park sponsored box has now arrived in Kenya. Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.
Speaking about the campaign, Woodovis Park owner, John Lewis said: “We wanted to pledge our support to ShelterBox by sponsoring a box in the first instance, but were also keen to encourage our visitors to help make a difference to people affected by disasters around the world. We have been really pleased by the response we’ve received.”
