July 2013: Thanks to a new partnership with the Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors’ Bureau, travel planning resource, Holiday In New England has unearthed a bounty of hidden accommodation gems to save travellers having to do the legwork themselves.

Mt Washington Valley, located in the heart of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, USA, is a year round holiday destination. Gateway to the 780,000 acre White Mountain National Forest, this area of New Hampshire offers visitors the opportunity to explore a staggeringly beautiful and varied landscape, with everything from hiking, biking and golf in the summer to skiing, tubing, and mountain coasters in winter. A two-and-a-half-hour drive from Boston, the region is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts wanting to experience the best of New England.

The experts at Holiday In New England have hand-picked a selection of recommended accommodation options from romantic B&Bs to spacious town houses and traditional inns, all bookable direct with the owners.  The Holiday In New England website also features a sample of top things to do in the area from scenic train rides to canoeing down the Saco River, fishing, skiing, tax free shopping, a family day out at Story Land and discovering the Mt Washington Cog Railway. Hiking highlights include the Appalachian Trail that extends some 2,200 miles from Georgia in the south to the Mt Katahdin in Maine.

Thirteen ski resorts provide a plethora of summertime activities from ziplines to gondola or chairlift rides, mountain coasters, adventure parks and horse riding. Winter brings out the downhill and cross country skiers, with seven ski resorts and six cross country centres within a 40 minute drive of North Conway.

Now a signed up member of the Mt Washington Valley Chamber, Holiday In New England has brought together industry insider know-how, unique experiences and approved accommodation all in one place, taking the headache out of holiday planning.

“Independent travellers going to New England may not have heard of many of the tourist destinations in the Mt Washington Valley, let alone know where to look to find things to do and book accommodation,” says Holiday In New England director, Charles Chalcraft.

“When they do find an accommodation directory they then have to choose from a vast list of hotels, motels, hotels with suites, inns, romantic country inns and B&Bs. We provide a short list of inspected quality accommodations that we can personally recommend.”
