Holiday in New England launches PR Campaign

May 2013: Bespoke travel planning resource, Holiday in New England has engaged the services of Samantha Kirton at iPR to raise awareness of the brand as ‘the go to New England holiday website’ for all travellers wishing to Holiday in New England, USA.

 

As well as providing essential travel information and local tips, Holiday in New England has introduced a very easy, map based navigation around the website. The site showcases a select number of exclusive, handpicked, inspected and approved accommodation, on each of 58 local maps, enabling holidaymakers to plan their route and then book direct with owners.

Featured accommodation – everything from top quality B&Bs and country inns to self catering vacation rental, family resorts and luxury spa hotels – is included by invitation only. There are over 700 things to do, ranging from whale watching to museums and art galleries; skiing and winter sports; boating, biking and hiking; scenic railway rides to windjammer and moose cruises.

As well as offering a valuable online resource, Holiday in New England is supported by the personal touch of an expert just a phone call or email away.Company directors, Charles and Anna Chalcraft, are experts in arranging holidays to New England, based on 15 years’ experience specialising in the region. Avid travellers with family in New England, between them they have seen over 2,500 houses and more than 600 inns and B&Bs and 30 resorts. Not to mention countless hotels and motels. Although they no longer arrange holidays themselves, they can recommend New England specialist tour operators to travellers who prefer to have everything taken care of.

“With an increasing number of internet savvy, independent travellers wanting to research online and book direct with owners we created the site to bring everything together in one place,” explains Charles. “Holidaymakers can be assured of the quality of the recommendations thanks to our experience both as tour operators and frequent visitors to the region. We decided to limit the accommodation options because there is simply too much information on the internet these days; visitors to our website can now make easy, informed choices.

“We take no commission on bookings, so visitors can be assured of our impartiality.”

Features of the website include detailed descriptions of accommodation by area and property type, live links to each of the six New England states, 67 maps, a newsletter for subscribers and sample itineraries as well as tips on local activities and things to do. Visitors can then click through to check availability and book direct.

The website was launched in 2009 with an upgraded navigation process introduced this year. The site is funded by ad revenue rather than agency commission or booking fees and only inspected and recommended accommodations are invited to advertise.

According to Discover New England, 280,000 visitors from UK went to New England on holiday in 2011, the largest country contingent of the 1.7 million international visitors in that year. Summer and Fall are the most popular times to visit but skiing in winter attracts an increasing number of visitors.
